Photo Contest

Dear Photography Enthusiast,

We will be sponsoring a Photo Contest at the Shoreham Town Festival again this year to raise money for the Platt Memorial Library Building Fund,. I am writing to encourage you to enter your photos. It will be fun and help a great cause. There are three age levels and five categories to enter. Photos will be judged prior to the Festival and exhibited at the Festival on August 30, 2008. Entries are due on or before August 25th, they can be mailed to Abby Goodrich or be dropped off at the Platt Memorial Library. At the Festival, prizes will be awarded for first place photos in each category at each age level. To raise money for the library building campaign, photos will be auctioned off during the Festival through silent auctioning. I hope you will consider participating. We are looking forward to seeing your work. Please encourage others to join in the fun too, the more competition the more excitement! Please look over the contest rules below. Three divisions: children ages 6-13 yrs., youth ages 14-21 yrs., adult 22 up

Categories:
  • Addison County Landmarks
  • Addison County Landscapes
  • Addison County Residents (portrait)
  • Life in Addison County
  • Barns in Shoreham


Contest Rules:
  1. Photos will not be returned to entrants. They will be auctioned off after being judged with proceeds from the auction going to the Platt Memorial Library Building Campaign.
  2. Photos should be no smaller than 5”x7”
  3. Photos should be submitted matted without frames.
  4. Entries must be received no later than Monday, August 25, 2008. Mail entries to Abigail Goodrich, Sweet Butter Churn Farm, 351 Goodrich Rd, Whiting, Vermont 05778 or drop them off at the library.
  5. Put identifying data on the back of photo on a separate piece of paper. Information should include name, address, the age of photographer and the category of the entry.
  6. Entries limited to 1 photo per category, per photographer
  7. Photos must feature an aspect of Addison County or a barn in Shoreham
